How to Actually Stick to Your New Year Resolution of Drinking More Water
We know that we are supposed to, but we just don't.
It's not for lack of knowledge, we know the many benefits of drinking water. The challenge is actually making drinking more water into a daily habit. This is just impossible for most of us.
Most of us do really good for a few days, but next thing you know life happens and we are back to a sad few cups a day... if any, but!
I'VE FOUND THE SOLUTION!
The how to turn drinking water into a habit that will stay:
IN DETAIL:
Whenever you want to start a new habit, in this case, the habit of drinking more water all you have to do is link something you already do to the habit you'd like to start: To get yourself to drink more water, you just need to link the action of drinking water to something you do on a regular basis.
Choose one of the things you do regularly with drinking water, and that's it you've got yourself a new habit.
Note: If you choose the same time and place to go about this new habit you'll be much more successful at sticking with it and turning it into a routine.
I, for example, connected my daily routine of brushing my teeth in the morning to drinking water.
1. I leave a full Voss water bottle next to my toothbrush every night after my night routine

2. and in the morning after I brush my teeth and before DOING ANYTHING ELSE I down my water bottle

3. I try and force myself to stay in the room until my water bottle is empty. This was hard at first, but eventually, I became so used to it, that whenever I tried to do things differently it would just feel odd and I'd just go back to drinking a full water bottle before starting my day.
You can use the method of linking things you already do with pretty much any habit you would like to start.

P.S.
Try to Get 2 Water Bottles because water intake is an important part of any diet I'm going to suggest that you prepare yourself by getting a water bottle to carry with you, and one to leave by your bathroom sink or next to your bed.
If you are anything like me, it helps if these are pretty to look at, seal properly, and are easy to drink out of/chug :D
The dollar store has a nice variety of plastic water bottles.
You may also just buy a water bottle from Voss, FIJI, or any other companies whose packaging
you find aesthetically attractive.
I loved my glass Voss water bottle: https://amzn.to/2HOFGNr
