So this is a concept that I actually wrote down on my "good to know" list. A list I created a while back, which I later re-named "shit that is good to know list" and it's latest name: "If I die, I'd like my kids to know list" 😄. Yes, that is how important the concepts on this list are.

Today I'd like to talk about the "Out of Sight Out of Mind" concept and how we can all use this in our favor to reach our goals.

The concept "Out of Sight Out of Mind" which simply means If you do not see someone or something frequently, you will forget about it, it's as you know a big money-making strategy used and sometimes exploited by companies all around the world to increase their profits.

Companies know that by being in front of you 24/7 they will build trust with you, make you crave them, or motivate you to want to use them or their services. Starbucks, for example, uses their green mermaid logo everywhere to have us automatically think coffee when we see it. Sometimes all we need is to see their signature green color and instantly we are craving coffee. And how about McDonald's, IN-N-OUT, and Jack in the Box? The names that have nothing to do with burgers and yet automatically make us think burgers chicken nuggets and french fries? Yes, that is how simple yet powerful this concept is. So many companies have profited from this idea, that it's time we make this concept/idea work for us!

I have created a list of tips around this idea that will help us eat better. They may be simple, but it's one of those things that when brought to our attention they just help.

So here it is, my:

How to Set yourself up for Success with the

"Out of Sight Out of Mind" Hack and

Help Yourself Lose Weight:

1. Numero Uno! HIDE! Not you, the sweets :D! Remove all sweets cookies and junk food from plain sight. No cookies on the kitchen countertops, no cereals/breads on top of the fridge, no muffins on the table, nothing zero, nada zip!

2. And this is a money saver. Next time you go to the grocery store abstain yourself from buying sweets. Do not buy any sweets, and if you must buy some treats to bribe/compensate your kids for doing their chores, then make it impossible to get to them by hiding them somewhere in the back of your cabinets and refrigerator.

3. Also, make it so that the eye level shelf in your fridge and cabinets are filled with healthy foods. Make these shelves look like an eat healthy commercial :D

4. Clean out your fridge on cheat day. Dispose or eat the snacks and junk food in your home while meal prepping for the week. :D

5. Prevent yourself from seeing food that you shouldn't eat when you have little to no self-control or willpower. This includes your phone: Do not go on social media when hungry or decision fatigued.

6. Do not wait until you are starving to eat. Prepare for battle by having ready to eat healthy foods that will stop you from making poor decisions.

7. Stay away from the colors pink, yellow, and red especially when hungry. These colors are known to increase the feeling of hunger, pink more specifically will make you crave sweets.

I believe in you!

and for those like me who share a home with others, here are a few bonus tips:

1. Make sure you let those around you know about your goals. Share how important this is to you, and it's health implications. Try to get them on board with you, if they do not share this weight/health goal with you:

2. Share with them the concept of “Out of Sight Out of Mind” explain to them why they could be of so much help to you by simply removing certain things from sight around the house.

3. Last, start making a space just for you. Get a cabinet a place in the fridge just for you, and fill this place with good to eat healthy items.

And that is all loves.

I hope these tips help you get closer to a healthy happy life :*

Much love,

Iliana 😘
